Aptly described by Rolling Stone writer Andy Greene in his 2023 interview, “unknown Legend” series, Alan Pasqua has recorded and toured for years with jazz and rock icons. A world class artist, Alan has played and recorded with Tony Williams, Jack DeJohnette, Paul Motion, Dave Holland, The Brecker Brothers, Joe Henderson, Stanley Clarke, Reggie Workman, The Thad Jones Mel Lewis Orchestra, and many more. In the pop world he has been a member of the bands of Bob Dylan and Santana, including album credits with Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Elton John. In addition to all that, he has worked with composers John Williams, Quincy Jones, Dave Grusin, and Henry Mancini.
Aside from his many critically acclaimed recordings as a leader in jazz, in 2008, Pasqua joined forces with Peter Erskine and Dave Carpenter, arranging, co-producing and playing on the Grammy Award nominated trio album “Standards”. Most recently, Alan teamed up again with Peter Erskine and Darek Oles to produce the 2022 Grammy nominated recording, “Live in Italy”, and also added George Garzone to the trio to record “3 Nights in L.A.”.
It’s a rare occasion to have Alan come back to New Mexico, especially leading a trio. SFMC is proud to present Steinway artist Alan Pasqua at UNIT B, the perfect intimate supper club setting for piano jazz. Get your tickets early, as this show is guaranteed to sell out. Accompanying Alan will be Gordy Johnson on Bass and John Trentacosta on Drums.
