GREG ABATE – Alto Saxophone Master

Back again to thrill his Santa Fe audience, Rhode Island based saxophonist Greg Abate is known the world over as a master of the alto saxophone and a hard core bebopper, but he does much more. He is also a respected composer; some of his 17 CDs consist of only his own songs, while others feature standards along with his own pieces.

Greg is one of a diminishing number of jazz artists who travel the world non-stop, often more than 225 days a year, performing in clubs and at festivals, giving clinics at schools and colleges and regularly releasing highly regarded and reviewed recordings which make the top 20 on the JazzWeek national radio chart. For this concert Greg will be playing a mix of jazz standards, his own compositions, and a few numbers from his recently recorded and upcoming release.

Few performers can sustain that ‘fire in the belly’ intensity that energizes audiences and bandmates alike, night after night, and Greg never fails to make that happen. Always aiming for the deep seats, he embodies the joy, striving and beauty that brings the jazz audience back year after year to appreciate his music, and he always delivers. Joining Greg at UNIT B will be Bob Fox – Piano, Terry Burns – Bass, and John Trentacosta – Drums.

*VIP tickets are only available in multiples of 2. VIP Tickets provide access to a reserved seating area on a raised platform with an unblocked view of the stage. This section is slightly removed from the main crowd, offering a more private and comfortable experience. VIP seating is very limited — only a few seats are available.

Unit B is a dinner-theater style dining venue featuring high caliber live performances. The restaurant typically opens for dinner, wine and craft cocktails at 5:30pm. Food and drinks will be available until the kitchen closes approximately 1 – 2 hours after the show starts.

We will verify your ticket purchase by name when you arrive. There is no need to print tickets in advance. Your show ticket entitles you to a seat in the space, which will be allotted on a first-come first-served basis.

DINNER RESERVATIONS: To ensure that Unit B is able to accommodate your whole party together, or to request a specific seating location, please make a table reservation in addition to your ticket purchase. To make a reservation, please fill out this form.

Please note that while Unit B does their best to accommodate specific seating requests, depending on the size of your party and the order in which your reservation is received, they may not always be able to do so. For groups of 5 or more, a table reservation is required in order to ensure you will sit together.
